1- Orthopedic Technician/Practitioner

Job Responsibilities:
A- Works autonomously to assess patients in a holistic manner in order to gauge the most appropriate cast, brace or splint option for their condition.
B- Assists the orthopedic surgeon(s) and/or nursing/allied health staff to comprehensively manage and rehabilitate sick and disabled patients with fractured bones.
C- Assists in application, maintenance and adjustment of skin, skeletal and manual traction.
D- Provides education to the patient and family on the proper care and use of casts and orthopedic appliances and advises on patient mobility assistance as required.
E- Works with the surgeons and nursing team to carry out diagnostic tests and clinical procedures as required.
Job Requirements:
A- Qualification in Orthopedic Casting from a recognized association and affiliation.
B- 5+ years of relevant experience which must include pediatric caseload inclusive of:
Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in care, application, and safe removal of cast’s specialized to pediatric orthopedics.
Interpretation of X-rays.
Experience working with disabled or injured populations.
