About Qatar Petroleum:
Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state-owned public corporation established by Emiri Decree No. 10 in 1974. It is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in the State of Qatar. The principal activities of QP, its subsidiaries and joint ventures are the exploration, production, local and international sale of crude oil, natural gas and gas liquids, refined products, synthetic fuels, petrochemicals, fuel additives, fertilizers, liquefied natural gas(LNG), steel and aluminum. QP’s strategy of conducting hydrocarbon exploration and development is through Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements (EPSA) and Development and Production Sharing Agreements (DPSA) concluded with major international oil and gas companies.
1- HEAD COUNSEL (LEGAL COMPLIANCE)

Job Purpose:
The Head Counsel will manage a team of legal counsels and subject matter experts supporting QatarEnergy’s business activities both domestically and internationally by providing general as well as specific subject matter legal and regulatory advice in the areas of antitrust, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, trade controls and supervision, ethics and business conduct. In addition, provide advice on corporate governance principles as well as overseeing the development and implementation of QatarEnergy’s governance programs, governance related policies and governance related training.
Job Requirements:
A- JD/LLB degree and currently licensed to practice law in home jurisdiction.
B- At least 10 years of post-qualification legal experience in private practice or in-house (multinationals), including
specialization in anti-bribery and corruption (US FCPA, UKBA2010), or sanctions and trade controls, or anti-trust and
competition law.
C- Experience of handling compliance matters in complex compliance or regulatory environments (oil and gas sector
preferably).
