Nakilat operates the Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard in Ras Laffan Industrial City, providing comprehensive ship repair and offshore fabrication services via strategic joint ventures: Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (N-KOM) and Qatar Fabrication Company.

Job Summary:
The Third Engineer Officer must keep an engine room watch or, on UMS ships, must act as duty engineer in rotation. He may be required to act as the Shipboard Safety Officer.
Job Responsibilities:
A- The safety of all personnel working under his supervision.
B- Electrical and mechanical maintenance and safety.
C- Carrying out any lawful command and delegated duty as issued by the Chief Engineer and /or Master.
D– Technical supervision of the work force as required.
E- Stores and spare gear allocated to his charge by the Second Engineer Officer.
Job Requirements:
A- Evaporators – Relationship between temp and pressure, why use Vacuum, Air compressors – Maintenance and overhaul
B- Experience of managing crew members
C- Experience with multinational crews
D- Flashing from cold, purge cycles, testing of Boiler water and associated hazards with incorrect impurity levels.
E- Importance of weekly routines and equipment tested.
F- Maintenance of Engines and overhaul of cylinder heads. Ordering spares and Bunkers.
